Bank of America has announced plans to acquire British information security consultancy MDSec Consulting Limited to bolster its global cyber defences.
Founded in Cheshire, MDSec provides highly technical penetration testing, red teaming, and threat research services, employing approximately 65 specialised cybersecurity professionals.
The deal is expected to complete in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
The acquisition directly complements Bank of America’s existing operational footprint in the North West of England.
The US banking giant maintains a major technology hub nearby in Chester, where over 1,400 staff are based alongside one of the firm’s global cyber threat operations centres.
