The UK Semiconductor Centre (UKSC) will lead a delegation of British technology companies, researchers, and sector organizations to the SEMICON event in Taiwan to foster cross-border commercial and supply chain partnerships.
The delegation will represent the UK’s semiconductor ecosystem at the UK Pavilion, showcasing domestic expertise across chip design and IP, compound semiconductors, integrated photonics, advanced materials, manufacturing equipment, and AI hardware.
The mission aligns with the UK Government’s broader semiconductor strategy to integrate domestic chip design and compound semiconductor capabilities into global hardware supply chains.
The UK currently houses over 700 semiconductor-related businesses generating more than £10bn in annual revenue.
By establishing direct ties with Taiwan’s manufacturing giants and supply chain networks, the UKSC aims to accelerate technology commercialization, attract international investment, and strengthen supply chain resilience for UK scaleups.
“The UK and Taiwan both have a long heritage in semiconductors and bring highly complementary strengths to the global semiconductor industry,” said Andy McLean, chief executive of the UK Semiconductor Centre.
“We want to connect UK innovators with Taiwan’s manufacturing expertise and supply-chain depth, while helping Taiwanese companies identify technologies, partners and supply chains and create new opportunities for businesses in both markets.
“I encourage companies, investors, researchers and industry leaders to speak to us whilst we’re in Taiwan and explore how we can work together.”
